A MESSAGE FROM KEISHA WAITES
My opponent has resorted to sending text messages and emails calling me a Republican - spreading lies/misinformation, staining my reputation, and my professional track record. This is a clear sign of desperation. These shameful and disgraceful personal attacks represent a hostile, Racist and Sexist strike. I have been a lifelong member of the Democratic Party. My campaign is focused on one priority: delivering real relief to Georgia families facing skyrocketing utility bills, and ensuring transparency and accountability from the Public Service Commission.
As the only remaining candidate in this race, with legislative and policy experience and two decades of public service, I expected political resistance. What I didn’t expect, was a personal smear campaign rooted in retaliation. The attacks originate from my former Chief of Staff/ campaign manager Dan Otoole who was dismissed for demanding a six-figure taxpayer-funded salary without delivering results. In response, he pledged revenge, filing multiple ethics complaints, launching smear websites using stolen access to my personal domain, and now serving as Campaign Manager to my political opponent. These are not facts, but allegations under active appeal, stemming directly from this personal vendetta.
Let's compare qualifications: Three terms in the Georgia State Legislature,Citywide Atlanta City Councilmember, and 15 years in federal service with the Department of Homeland Security and the Small Business Administration, providing hands-on expertise in public safety, economic development, and emergency response.
While my opponent rehashes these contested claims to distract from his own record of two failed campaigns and no demonstrated readiness, I stand on a foundation of public service and legislative victories. The people of Georgia need proven leadership, not distractions or drama. Don't be distracted by noise; look at the record, look at the results. I am the only candidate who's ready to deliver from day one.

I’ve spent my career fighting for Georgia families, and today, that fight continues. The time has come to stand up to the corporate utilities that prioritize profits over people. I’m running for Public Service Commissioner to demand transparency, lower utility rates, and energy justice for every household in Georgia.

I’m Keisha Sean Waites. As a three-term Georgia State Representative and former Atlanta City Council member, I’ve always put people at the center of my work—from passing laws that protect seniors and working families, to serving constituents with urgency and heart.
After leaving elected office, I joined FEMA to help families recover after disaster struck—because no one should be left behind. Today, I’m running for Public Service Commissioner to bring that same compassion, experience, and accountability to Georgia’s energy future.
I am the only candidate in this race with both legislative experience and firsthand understanding of what it means to be a Georgia Power customer. I know how government should work—for you, not the bottom line of a monopoly utility.
On the Public Service Commission, I’ll fight for:
